Overview 

Local authorities are no longer adopting land after development, and a local housing developer was struggling for a long-term land adoption solution for a housing development that had shared green space and a pumping station that would need maintenance after completion of the site.

What we did

We provided the framework to create a management company owned by the people buying the properties so they would own the land management responsibility once the development was completed. We then worked with their legal team to ensure this was included in the purchase and deeds of the properties. We then arranged annual payment plans for owners and managed the green spaces and pumping station maintenance.

The result

The developer was able to complete the project on time and leave the site without a long-term commitment. The property owners were clear in their ongoing commitment to maintain the shared areas and pumping station.
