The Middleton Yard team came together over steaming cups of coffee, delicious homemade bakes, and plenty of good conversation all for a cause close to our hearts. Inspired by the Macmillan Coffee Morning tradition, we hosted our very own fundraising event, with proceeds going to the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).
The atmosphere was warm and buzzing as colleagues showcased their baking skills, from rich chocolate brownies to picture-perfect cupcakes. Every slice, sip, and donation added up, and we’re proud to share that together we raised £620. Thanks to Barclays generous match-funding, this amount was doubled to an incredible £1,240, making an even greater impact for the cause.
The MNDA works across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland to improve access to care, fund vital research, and campaign on behalf of people living with or affected by motor neurone disease. By supporting their work, we hope to make even a small contribution towards a future where the impact of this devastating condition is lessened and, one day, eliminated.
Beyond the fundraising, the coffee morning was a wonderful reminder of the power of community in the workplace. It was heartening to see colleagues step away from their desks, share a laugh, and rally around such an important cause.
A big thank you goes out to everyone who baked, donated, and joined for a cuppa. Your generosity and enthusiasm made this event such a success.
We’re already looking forward to the next opportunity to bring people together in support of a good cause with cake, of course!
