Walking for Annie & Rick: The Middletons Yard Community Takes on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge
A group of us, who have over the years shared coffee breaks, laughs, milestones, and the occasional tough day. More than anything, we’ve built a community that looks out for one another.
Right now, one of our own needs us, and we’re coming together to show what community truly means.
Our Beloved Annie
Recently, Annie’s world was turned upside down when her husband, Rick, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), a progressive, life-limiting condition that affects the brain and nerves. It’s a diagnosis that changes everything, bringing emotional and practical challenges that no one should have to face alone.
Our Challenge: 24 Miles, 3 Peaks, 1 Purpose
To show our love and support for Annie and Rick, a group of us from work will be taking on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge on 11th October.
That means:
24 miles of walking
5,200 feet of ascent
3 mountains – Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough
All in under 12 hours
It’s going to be tough, but every step we take will be for Annie and Rick.
Our Goal
We’ve set out to raise £2,000 to help ease some of the financial pressures that come with MND. Every donation will go directly to Annie and Rick, whether it’s to help with specialist equipment, travel to hospital appointments, home adaptations, or simply giving them the gift of more time together without added stress.
